PMLD Teacher, Wrexham
The Supply Service are recruiting for a PMLD Teacher to support a local secondary school based in Wrexham.

The school focuses on supporting children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and we are looking for a passionate and empathetic teacher to join our team and help us achieve this mission.
As a PMLD Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging, tailored educational programs that meet the individual needs of our students. You will work closely with a team of experienced teaching assistants, therapists, and specialists to ensure that all students experience meaningful learning opportunities, enhance their independence, and develop essential life skills. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess individualized learning programs based on the PMLD students’ needs.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to support students’ development and well-being.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to create a safe, engaging, and accessible learning environment.
- Use a variety of communication techniques, including Makaton, PECS, and other AAC systems, to ensure effective communication.
- Monitor and track students’ progress, providing regular feedback to families and external professionals.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and physical development in addition to their academic learning.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, inclusion, and dignity.
We are looking for a teacher who is:
- A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and experience teaching children with PMLD.
- Passionate about supporting children with complex needs and delivering inclusive education.
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to providing high-quality, person-centered teaching.
- Confident using various communication strategies to support students' needs.
- Able to work flexibly and adapt to the evolving needs of the students.
- Strong in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals.
