SEMH Teacher, Telford
The Supply Service are recruiting for an SEMH Teacher on behalf of SEMH residential school based in Redhill, Telford.
This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week
Our client are seeking to appoint a Teacher with knowledge of delivering core and/or vocational subjects to our students. They have desired experience in Science as the core subject alongside an interest in Humanities and/or PE. Knowledge and experience of pre-entry level through to GCSE teaching is desirable. The role includes planning and delivering curriculum to students to gain meaningful qualifications to prepare them for further education and employment. The successful applicant will be able to use their knowledge and expertise to address any gaps in the students’ learning and support progress and achievements for our young people.
To ensure the educational needs of all young people in Amberleigh are met by providing a consistent and efficient service congruent with the organisation’s aim, objectives, and philosophy. Specifically, for this role – to attend to the educational needs of our young people within the Therapeutic Community context.
As a SEMH Teacher you'll need to have:
- Affinity for children with SEMH needs
- Ability to plan, teach and assess your specified subject, and ideally some other subjects
- Engage pupils to secure accredited certificates and qualifications
- To teach dynamic and engaging lessons across key stage 3,4 and 5
- To be creative in planning and able to create an inclusive learning environment
- An effective communicator with children, parents and colleagues
- A team player, able to work collaboratively
- Pastoral capabilities, including contributing to IDPs
- Adaptable and proactive, professional at all times
- Committed to safeguarding children at all times.
