Teachers of the Welsh Baccalaureate (Welsh Bacc) should be able to help students develop skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, planning, and organisation. They should also be able to help students develop an understanding of the importance of lifelong learning.
Skills covered in the Welsh Bacc:
- Literacy: The ability to read and write
- Numeracy: The ability to do math
- Digital literacy: The ability to use digital tools
- Planning and organization: The ability to plan and organise tasks
- Creativity and innovation: The ability to be creative and innovative
- Personal effectiveness: The ability to be effective and self-assured
- Problem solving and critical thinking: The ability to solve problems and think critically
Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales:
- A Level 3 qualification that builds on the skills developed in the Curriculum for Wales
- Helps students become active, responsible citizens who are ready for employment or further study
- Helps students develop initiative, independence, and resilience
